Ayurveda and Vedic Astrology believes that a child in mother's womb remembers its relation with the past life. To understand body and its problems is in fact a complicated process. The parameters to know about the functions of the body and environment in olden days were different than parameters that exist today. Today’s modern science is based on microscopic values whereas the ancient Indian wisdoms, like Ayurveda, is based on macroscopic values of five basic elements: the fire, the earth, the water, the air and the space. It is known that the body is made of the five basic elements. Therefore, the quality of body depends on the quality of the five basic elements that exist in the body.

The quality of the body is not only limited to five basic elements. It was found that the rays coming from various planets have immense impact on these basic elements from which the whole world, including our body, is made. Ancient Indian scientists found the effect of particular rays on particular basic elements. The following relationship shows the effects of rays on the body.

According to Medical Astrology, every disease of the world is divided in two sections: Mars oriented disorders and Saturn Oriented Disroders. Mars oriented disorders are acute and damages body parts very quickly. This is because Mars sends fire dominated rays and if Mars is not healthy in the horoscope of the person, it can cause intense and acute disease and may lead to surgery and emergency treatment. Saturn, on the other hand, is slow and complicated in nature. Its rays damage the body parts slowly and hence are the cause of chronic diseases.
